The 2 W's: work and weightloss
w #1: Weight loss... Well for the past 3 or so months I've been shifting my eating habits, and woah nelly has it paid off. So far i've lost 15 lbs. Ok so the last few days i went back to the old crappy fast food habits.. thats bad, but its over again... 2 days won't ruin too much. Anyways, i feel better, can wear smaller sizes (not small sizes, just smaller)
w #2: Work.... we have a work meeting tommorrow to discuss the happenings of the board meeting this past weekend, and also our dire money situation... the one that means i probably will lose my job at the end of december. I'm not sure if that would be good or bad. Part of me wants change, and the other wants job security. only time will tell

update! well many things have happened since my last entry, so i cant very well go over all of *that*. I'll sum it up in four words: "purple yellow monkey butt". seeya later!

on friday i found out my contract at work will most likely be extended to at least the end of December. hurrah! sounds good to me! they are reconfiguring the budget to keep me as long as they can... it always comes down to money doesnt it. on a side note... fabio, i dont use coconut hair anything.. i hate coconut!

animals, plants, and vomit, oh my!
Yesterday (saturday june 8) was a very long day. Got home late the night before from seeing Bend it Like Beckham in a neighbouring town, then got up at 4:00 am to head over to the Bird Banding Station near my work and volunteer. It was my first time to volunteer, and it was fun... despite the lack of many birds. I did get to hold my first bird (a white throated sparrow because they aren't as hard to handle, so good for beginners like me) What a treat. The rest of the day I spent with a Girl from Work, and we went Atlassing (birding for the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas) in the hot hot sun. I forgot a hat and sunscreen so had a horrible migraine in the afternoon. This migraine continued on to when we met up for a Naturalist club outing to a nearby native plant nursery who do a lot of natural restorations. It was faboolous, but... i had a horrible headache and could not enjoy it. It is now 7 pm and we head over to another house to have dinner, watch birds at their feeders, and wait up late for Flying Squirrels to appear. I sat there watching oodles of birds, trying to ignore my headache, waiting waiting for the sun to go down and squirrels to come out. Thankfully they did. It is now 10:00 pm, my headache is out of control, i still need to drive 30 minutes to get home, so i tell my friend we should head back. I get into my car to drive home, my head is pounding, its dark, foggy, and now my stomach starts acting up, and memories of my fish burger (a salmon patty) from lunch make my stomach churn. Well.. needless to say, i had to pull off the road pretty quick. Just im time, the moment i opened the door... puke puke puke my guts out. Disgusting. When i got home with my head still pounding the day didnt feel worth it, but now in the morning... well rested, no longer nauseous or in pain.. it was a fun day. :)
they only come out at night
last night i went to dairy queen. last night i saw a bunch of weirdos (which means a lot coming from me). They were all in crazy costume type outfits with funky sunglasses, funky pants, crazy hats, glitter... the whole deal... they were dancing in a circle, dancing around the dairy queen parking lot, taking pictures of themselves boogie down. As my friend and I approached they said "I bet those girls are laughing at us" to which i replied "i was laughing at something completely unrelated". Then they gave ME the strange looks... that to me.. is backwards. topsy turvy world.

so, does acting like a jerk while driving make one feel cool? it must, because so many people do it. I am making a right turn at a four way stop, i see the guy who is coming through straight, but i go ahead first, assume he notices that im turning, once im done the turn he is RIGHT on my tail. no, he didnt honk obnoxiously, but he kept making gestures at me that i did not find amusing... nothing involving third fingers... mostly shoulder shugs, and repeatedly tapping his forehad as if to say "Think stupid!". Then he flashed his high beams.. bear in mind it is complete daylight... what on earth would that do?? what an idiot. Now instead of looking stupid for only a short moment... he KEPT on spazzing out in his car for the next 2 blocks until he finally turned. I managed to make eye contact with him in the rear view mirror and saw him give me a round of applause... i gave him a nice thumbs up.
